Agew Na Pangasinan A huge Success


Pangasinan did another great job by the success of the 432nd Agew Na Pangasinan Celebration held yesterday April 11, 2012.

Actually the celebration already started last April 10,2012 via Zarsuela Followed by a Fireworks display at exactly 12:00am. Meanwhile major activities are occurred yesterday.


The whole day event was started with a mass held at the Capitol Plaza. Commemorative Program was followed . Governor Amado Espino, Francisco Sionel-Jose a National Artist for literature  who is also the guest of honor and speaker and vice governor calimlim awarded the winners of the first pangasinan literary contest. Pangasinan Orthography was launch with the Komisyon ng wikang Filipino. Pangasina is the first to have orthography in the Whole Philippines.


After the program the Parada na Dayew immediately started with 20 groups of street dancer and 16 floats coming from the different towns and cities of Pangasinan. The parade was headed by marshalls from PNP and cadets from Binmaley Catholic School Inc.


Each delegates from street dancing competition rendered a 10 minutes performance as apart of the contest rules.After all contestants showed their creativity,gracefulness and camaraderie through their performance the organizers announced the winners of Float and Street Dancing Contest.


The last affair  for the celebration of Agew Na Pangasinan. Is the ASNA awards, an award giving body for outstanding Pangasinenses.6 outstanding Pangasinenses was awarded coming from different fields, literature and Public Administration to name a few. The Affair is held at the Sison Auditorium.

But the celebration doesn’t stop there because a live concert was held at the lingayen beachfront which started at 7:00 pm and last until 12midnight.


Summer Activities in the Province of Pangasinan doesn’t stop on the conclusion of the Agew Na Pangasinan Celebration because it’s just  the start of a more fun celebrations this summer in the province as Pistay Dayat the mother of all festivals in the provice was formally started in the Agew Na Pangasinan Celebration to be followed by Palarong Pambansa 2012 the biggest and most prestigious sports event in the country.

This events proves that Summer is MORE FUN IN PANGASINAN.

Outstanding Pangasinenses honoured at ASNA Awards 2012


Asna Awards is a award giving body that recognize incomparable Pangasinenses who excels  on their field of expertise.

On its third year six outstanding Pangasinenses was awarded as the ASNA and Balitok Awardee. The awarding ceremonies was held last April 11, 2012 at the ever elegant  Sison Auditorium.


Balitok Award was the highest recognition in ASNA was given to Hilarion Henares of Sta. Barbara and Gabriel Singson.

Hilarion Henares Jr. awardee for National Economic Development. Henares is a descendant of Don Daniel Maramba (governor of the province from 1916 to 1922). He is an economist, educator, businessman and writer.

Gabriel Singson awardee for Business (Banking and Finance) Singson is a lawyer and the former governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). 

Other awardees are Ermin Garcia, Jr. (Journalism) of Dagupan City, a journalist and publisher of Sunday Punch, a local newspaper; Jose Datuin (Visual Arts) of Dagupan City, an international sculptor and artist; Ambassador Amadeo Perez, Jr. (Government Service – Public  Administration) of Urdaneta City, former mayor of the city, congressman at the fifth district and the current chairman of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO). General Jose Magno (Military Service) of Pozorrubio town, a retired general. 

“Asna” is an ancient term for ‘asin’ (salt) which the province’s name was derived.

Pangasinan Culture highlighted through Dance and Float



Parada na Dayew one of the activities for the celebration of the 432nd Agew Na Pangasinan showcase Pangasinan Culture and History through exceptional Street Dancing performances  and Imaginative Float Design.


20 group of street dancers  and 16 Floats from different Municipalities and cities of Pangasinan joined the competition.


Floats are created base on their municipalities/cities history and culture, some highlighted how their place was named some featured their products and industries as well as the tourist destinations from their town/city.


Meanwhile street dancers  showcase festivities, stories, beliefs and history of their town/city through creative and well choreograph dances. Also, products of their place was introduced through colourful and artistic props.


In the end 6 winners from both competition emerged as winners. Binmaley Contingent exalted after winning the Float Competition and Runner up in Street Dancing Competion while Mapandan Street Dancers secured the championship trophy as they won again and named as the best street dancers of the Parada Na Dayew Street Dance Contest.

Champions get a prize of 100, 000 pesos and runner up get a prize of 70,000, 50,000, 30,000,25,000 and 20,000 respectively while non-winners  get a 5,000 pesos consolation prize aside from the 10,000 pesos for their contingency plan. Trophies was also awarded to all winners and plaque of recognition was given to all contingent.


The parade’s itinerary was the major streets surrounding the Capitol Complex and the Main Competition was held at the Capitol Plaza yesterday April 11, 2012.

On its 432nd founding anniversary the Province of pangasinan will Celebrate the Agew na Pangasinan on April 11, 2012 to be led by  Governor Amado Espino Jr.

April 5 was the actual date of celebration but because it falls on holy week it was moved to April 11.

The celebration will start with a Thanksgiving mass and followed by a commemorative program.awarding ceremony  for the 1st Panagsinan  Literary Contest and presentation of the Pangasinan Orthography to the Komisyon sa sikang Pilipino will also be part of the celebration meanwhile ASNA Awards will be Held at the Sison Auditorium.

Blessing and Opening of the Trade Expo Will be at Pangasinan Development and Training Center. Concert at the Capitol Beachfront and fireworks Display is also set for the celebration.

Earth Hour Celebration @ Jollibee Calasiao


“Bee Ignited: Wishing Lantern for a Cause” the theme for Jollibee’s Event in cooperation of DENR for the Earth Hour celebration.

The program started with an invocation from the Autism Society of the Philippines followed by the singing of National Anthem and Message from the Guests.











        Countdown was started five minutes before the earth hour and blessing to all Wishing Lantern was set before the lanterns are released . At exactly 8:30 PM all lights was switched off followed by discharging of wishing lanterns.


Photo booth was also placed inside the Jollibee store for the participants to take pictures and participants also sign on a pledge to the environment wall.



The whole event was also viewed worldwide through the live streaming courtesy of the ASINAN BLOGGERS.

Asinan Bloggers and Mam Vanj Padilla accepted a certificate of appreciation for being the part of the success of the said event.
